It handles icons, QR codes, and multilingual layouts without trouble.

Yes. Exporb automatically detects and decodes every QR code on the card — LinkedIn profiles, WhatsApp links, WeChat IDs, vCard/MECARD digital cards, and any URL. Cards with multiple QR codes are fully supported. Uses a triple-fallback system (BarcodeDetector API, ZXing WASM, jsQR) so QR codes are decoded even from blurry, angled, or poorly lit photos.

Exporb extracts 25 fields including 11 social media profiles directly from the card. It decodes QR codes (multi-QR support), extracts company domains from emails, infers country from phone codes, and auto-fills WhatsApp from phone numbers. But the biggest difference is that card scanning is part of a full lead capture flow: voice recording, selfie, AI lead scoring, conversation summary, and team sync. It is not a standalone scanner.

Exporb does more than raw OCR. It extracts company domains from email addresses (filtering out 30+ free email providers like Gmail and Yahoo). It infers country from phone country codes. It auto-fills WhatsApp from phone numbers. When both QR and OCR data exist, a two-tier merge fills in gaps from QR codes without overwriting what OCR already got right.

All data is encrypted in transit via TLS and encrypted at rest via Supabase managed encryption. Row-Level Security on every table prevents cross-tenant access. You own your data and can export or delete it any time. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit.

Exporb supports JPEG, PNG, WebP, and HEIC formats, so photos from any smartphone camera work. Maximum file size is 50 MB per image. When you capture a card through the app, images are compressed as JPEG at 0.85 quality to save storage while keeping text readable.

Business card extraction is included in the AI enrichment step — it costs 1 credit per contact. The free plan includes 10 AI credits per month, which covers 10 full enrichments (card extraction, conversation summary, and lead scoring combined). Paid plans include unlimited credits, so you can scan as many cards as you need at trade shows.

After capture, each contact gets a detail page showing the card image (tap to expand), all extracted fields you can edit (name, company, email, phone, title), your selfie, conversation summary, and any notes. You can fix or add fields, and attach more card images later via the upload button. Useful when a contact hands you a second card.

Offline, Exporb instantly captures the QR code data (vCard, MECARD, or social profile links) on the device. Once the device reconnects, the AI runs full OCR on the card image and merges the result with the QR data using a two-tier strategy that fills gaps without overwriting verified fields.

No. Exporb runs an anti-prompt-injection layer on every business card scan. Embedded instructions printed on adversarial cards (text designed to manipulate a language model) are stripped before the OCR result reaches downstream prompts. The model only sees clean field data.

Every prompt includes anti-hallucination guardrails. If a field is unclear or missing, the AI returns null instead of guessing. This is the same safety layer used on conversation analysis, documented on the AI conversation analysis page.
